The exhibition titled "Joe Contra Joe" was a complex installation, based on quotations: a quotation from a soldier's tomb, the contrasted, prosaic quotation of two well-known songs (Imagine, Paint it Black), and the bizarre evocation of the title and the introductory part of a film trilogy (Warhol – Morissey: Trilogy). Although the work is based on contrasts, it sheds light on the identity of empty phrases.
